MADISON, Wis. — Junior forward
Ty Pelton-Byce was named to the roster for U.S. Men's National University Team that will compete in the 2019 Winter World University Games in March, USA Hockey announced last week.
Pelton-Byce, who joined the Badgers for the spring semester, is one of 22 skaters to earn a spot on the roster.
The U.S. Men's National University Team, which is comprised of players who play in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), competes every two years in the Winter World University Games.

This year's games, running from March 1-12 Â in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, mark the U.S. team's 10th straight appearance at the tournament. The Americans placed ninth in the 2017 tournament in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Team USA opens the tournament in Krasnoyarsk against the Czech Republic on Friday, March 1, at 3 a.m. CT.

Prior to joining the Badgers, Pelton-Byce skated in 66 contests for Harvard, tallying eight points his freshman season before improving to 25 points in his second year. Pelton-Byce was also the recipient of the team's Donald Angier Hockey Trophy for most improved during his sophomore campaign.

Pelton-Byce is eligible for practice this season but will not be eligible to suit up for any games until next fall.
