Badgers make first return to Mountainview since 2010
MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin women's golf team heads to the 2019 Mountainview Collegiate this weekend in Tuscon, Arizona, March 22-24 at Mountainview Golf Club.
Here are five things to know before the team tees off:
1. Last time out: Jessica Reinecke's par-72 third round effort helped keep the Badgers in the top-10 and was the best round of the weekend for the Verona native. The senior finished with a (227 +11) to earn a share of 25th place.
2. The Course: The Preserve golf course is set within the western foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains. The location features terrific views and vast elevation changes and is well-renowned throughout the state as one of Arizona's best, but most difficult courses.
3. The Pack: UW will travel seniors Jessica Reinecke, Tess Hackworthy and Nat Zeng, sophomore Claire Fitzgerald and freshman Tracy Lee to this weekend's tournament. Sophomore Mackenzie Hahn and junior Bobbi Stricker will play as individuals.
4. The Opposition: The Badgers will face Houston, Iowa State, Kansas State, Missouri, North Texas, Oregon State, SMU, Southern Mississippi, Texas A&M, Texas State, UNLV and Washington.
5. Back to the Mountains: UW will return to the Mountainview Collegiate for the first time in nearly a decade. Last time the Badgers visited the Tuscon tournament was in 2010, where UW finished 13th of 18 schools with a 52-over 309-304-303=916 .
