MADISON, Wis. – The No. 23 Wisconsin softball team will play its home opener Tuesday afternoon, welcoming Northern Iowa to Goodman Diamond for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.

1. AYYYY TJ: Sophomore Taylor Johnson had a monstrous weekend for the Badgers, hitting .727 with eight hits and six runs. In Friday's game, Johnson recorded a career-high four hits and four runs and recorded her second multi-home run game with two dingers. She was a triple away from hitting for the cycle.

2. SLAMBARDO: Senior Stephanie Lombardo hit a grand slam in Friday's game at Illinois. It marks the first grand slam of the season for the Badgers and the first of her career.

3. WEEKEND RECAP: The Badgers came up short in their first Big Ten series of the season. After exploding for a decisive 15-6 win on Friday night, Wisconsin failed to get much offense going on Saturday, falling 2-0. The Badgers were in striking distance on Sunday, but were unable to come away with the win, dropping the final game of the series 6-5.

4. LOOKING AHEAD: This weekend UW will travel to Penn State for its second conference series of the year. The two teams will play Friday at 5 p.m. (CT), Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m. Sunday's game will be televised live on the Big Ten Network.

5. SCOUTING NORTHERN IOWA: The Panthers are 13-11 overall and 4-2 in Missouri Valley Conference play. The Badgers lead the all-time series against Northern Iowa, 5-3. Last season when the two teams met, UW was victorious by a score of 6-2.
