AZUSA, Calif. – The Wisconsin women's track and field teams were busy today competing at both the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate in California.
Jordan Hirsbrunner's name will go down in Badger history, following a second place finish in the heptathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational. The multi athlete scored 5,369 points, which is seventh best in school history, thanks to a fourth place finish in long jump and third place in both javelin and 800 meters.
Kelsey Sullivan also competed in heptathlon and took 16th place in her group, finishing the event with 4,785 points, with her best finish being in javelin.
Lucinda Crouch is a new top-ten record holder in Wisconsin history as well following her performance at the Bryan Clay Invitational. The Aussie distance runner took ninth place in the 3000 meter steeplechase, finishing in 10 minutes, 22.14 seconds, good for fifth best in school history.
The Wisconsin women's track and field team also competed at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate.
Banke Oginni stood out for the Badgers winning shot put with a 52 foot, 6 inch throw. Oginni also competed in hammer throw and finished in 27th place with a 169-4 throw.
The Badgers duo of hurdlers was stout again today.
Haley Lubow took second place in the 400 meter hurdles, with a personal best 1:00.42 time.
Bianca Stubler took fifth place in the event with a 1:01.30 time.
Lubow and Stubler also joined
Gabby DesRosiers and
Ebony McClendon in the 4x400 relay. The quartet took third place at the meet, and finished the 1600 meters in 3:53.66
Wisconsin had two other relays race at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate. The Wisconsin A team consisting of
Meagan Blair, DesRosiers,
Armoni Brown and McClendon took third place in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 45.71 seconds. Wisconsin B took seventh place with the help of
Mary Bartelson, Stubler,
Morgan Parzych and
Hannah Wilson.
In the 100 meters,
Ebony McClendon was outstanding with a third place finish. McClendon finished the dash in 11.88 seconds.
Hannah Wilson claimed a top-15 finish in the event, taking 12th place with a 12.43 time.
A quartet of lady Badgers competed in the 200 meters.
Ebony McClendon was the top Wisconsin finisher, with a second place final.
Gabby DesRosiers was right behind McClendon in third place with a 24.52 second time.
Morgan Parzych saw more collegiate action and took 15th place in the 200 meters.
Hannah Wilson took 16th place with a 25.67 time.
Parzych and DesRosiers day continued in the 400 meters. DesRosiers took fourth place in the dash with a 54.74 time. Chandler, Arizona native,
Morgan Parzych finished in tenth place with a 56.69 time.
Two Badgers competed in long jump at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate.
Meagan Blair tied for sixth place with a 19 foot, half an inch jump. True freshman,
Armoni Brown also jumped for the Badgers and earned herself a tenth place finish with an 18-10 jump.
Brown earned another top-ten finish in triple jump. She scored herself an eighth place finish, leaping to a 37 2 ½ score.
A163-8 toss earned
Hanna Barton an eighth place finish in discus at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate.
Annika Cederstrand threw the javelin 127-1, earning her a 16th place finish.
The Wisconsin Badgers will take the track again tomorrow as they continue their busy weekend!
