Badgers head to Princeton for last race before postseason
MADISON, Wis. — After severe weather halted racing last weekend at the Clemson Invitational, the No. 12 Wisconsin women's rowing team is more than ready to hit the racecourse this Saturday at the Princeton Regatta in Princeton, New Jersey. The Badgers are set to battle it out for the Dauphiny & Hewitt Cup against No. 7 Princeton, No. 14 Rutgers, and Columbia at Lake Carnegie. Here are f(oar) things to know before the flag drops in Princeton.
LAST TIME OUT: Racing last weekend was halted due to severe storms and debris. Unofficially, Wisconsin's varsity eight and second varsity eight were able to get in one race early Saturday morning. Both boats dominated the field, crossing the finish line first, which would have advanced both crews to the A Final later that day. However, further racing was canceled.
RACE BREAKDOWN: Wisconsin's varsity eight, second varsity eight, and varsity four will each race once on the one-day regatta Saturday morning. Each boat will line up against No. 7 Princeton, No. 14 Rutgers, and Columbia with one chance to win. According to cMax rankings, the UW varsity eight is ranked No. 15 while Princeton and Rutgers varsity eights are ranked No. 3 and No. 8 respectively.

7:10 am -- Varsity Four
7:30 am -- Varsity Eight
7:45 am -- Second Varsity Eight

MAY 19: Saturday's regatta will be the final race of the regular season for the Badgers before the exceedingly anticipated 2019 Big Ten Championships on May 19 at Devil's Lake in Baraboo. This eight-team event will host six top-ranked teams: No. 5 Michigan, No. 6 Ohio State, No. 12 Wisconsin, No. 13 Iowa, No. 14 Rutgers, and No. 16 Indiana.
