
Field events shine on the first day of the Sun Angel Classic

Wisconsin women’s field athletes all finish in the top 15
TEMPE, Ariz. – In the third weekend of the outdoor season, the Wisconsin women's track and field team found several solid performances in the desert at the opening day of the 2019 Sun Angel Classic on Friday.Â
The Badger women claimed two top ten finishes in long jump. Jordan Hirsbrunner, competing in her first collegiate outdoor long jump, took fifth in the event with a leap of 17 feet, 9 inches. Kelsey Sullivan came in 10th in the event with a jump of 17-6.

A pair of Badgers, Hailey Orlowski and Dailey Albino, competed in their first collegiate outdoor pole vault competition. Orlowski cleared 12-0 ½o take third in the event while Albino tied for sixth with a clearance of 11-6 1/2.

Banke Oginni continued her senior season with a 12th place finish in hammer throw. She had a toss of 159-5.

In the premier section of the women's 200 meters, Wisconsin sprinter Ebony McClendon took 14th place in a stacked field in 24.47 seconds.

In the open 200 meters, Bianca Stubler was the top Wisconsin finisher, taking 12th in 24.85 while Gabby DesRosiers placed 18th in 25.08.Â
Action continues for the Badgers Saturday at the Sun Angel Classic at 2 p.m. CT starting with the high jump.
