MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's track and field team capped off its regular season with 11 victories at the Wisconsin Alumni Classic on Friday at the Dan McClimon Memorial Track.
The Badger women had a clean sweep of the top five places in the women's 1500 meters.
Amy Davis was the winner of the event with a time of 4 minutes, 24.63 seconds.
Alissa Niggemann was the runner up with a final time of 4:27.45. True freshman,
Madison Mooney crossed the line third and finished with a personal best time of 4:27.56.
Lucinda Crouch took fourth place and had a final time of 4:28.52. In her last home meet,
Shaelyn Sorensen took fifth place with a time of 4:29.70.
Haley Lubow continued her incredible season, picking up a win in the 400 meter hurdles with a personal best time of 1:00.15.
In shot put, two Badgers finished in the top three. Senior
Banke Oginni was the winner with a 55 foot, 5 3/4 inch throw.
Josie Schaefer, competing unattached, finished in third with a 50-10 3/4 toss.
Oginni also shined in the hammer throw with a PR of 193-1 to finish in second place. That mark is the third-best throw in school history.
The Badger field athletes jumped to four top five finishes. True freshman,
Armoni Brown, won the event with an outdoor personal best jump of 19 feet, 8 inches.
Meagan Blair followed behind her in second place with an 18-6 1/2 jump.
Mary Bartelson rounded out the top three, with an 18-3 jump. Rounding out the top five,
Olivia O'Brien competed in her first collegiate long jump event and ended the night with a 17-4 1/4 jump.
The successful jumping continued for Wisconsin. In triple jump,
Meagan Blair was crowned the winner with a season best mark of 39-6.
Olivia O'Brien competed and finished in third place with a mark of 36-6 3/4.
In javelin, two Badgers finished in the top three.
Emma Fitzgerald was the victor, with a 151-5.
Annika Cederstrand came in third place with a 147-0 toss.
Wisconsin had two relays in the 4x100 event. Wisconsin 's "A" relay, made up of
Armoni Brown,
Ebony McClendon,
Gabby DesRosiers and
Meagan Blair, won the event with a time of 45.95 seconds. Wisconsin "B" crew, with
Hannah Wilson,
Bianca Stubler,
Morgan Parzych and
Mary Bartelson, came in third place with a time of 48.32.
In the pole vault,
Rayce Albino had a remarkable day, winning the event with a 13-5 1/4 clearance.
Hailey Orlowski also competed and took fourth on the day with a 12-0 3/4.
Former Badger and Olympian,
Kelsey Card continued to set records for Wisconsin. In discus, she recorded a 206-8 toss, becoming the new facility record holder.
Hanna Barton was runner up with a 173-10 throw.
Another former Badger was a standout at the Wisconsin Alumni Classic.
Georgia Ellenwood, competing for Under Armour, won the 100 meter hurdles, with a time of 13.89.
Kelsey Sullivan took second in the prelims and was fourth place in the finals with a 15.01 time.
In the 100 meters, senior
Ebony McClendon, was the winner with a time of 11.86 seconds.
Hannah Wilson was runner up with a time of 12.15 seconds. Freshman
Armoni Brown, took fifth place with a 12.42 time.
Ebony continued winning in the 200 meters, with a time of 24.14 seconds.
Hannah Wilson finished in third place with a time of 25.67. Rounding out the event for Wisconsin was
Louisa Marxen in ninth place with a time of 27.17.
In the premier distance event, Wisconsin runner,
Megan Olshanski won the 3000 meters with a time of 10 minutes, 3.86 seconds.
Katie Hietpas finished in fifth place with a time of 10:07.66.
Hanna Barton was the runner-up in discus with a 173-10 throw.
Josie Schaefer competed unattached in the event and took third place with a 168-11 toss.
In the 400 meters,
Morgan Parzych, was runner-up with a time of 57.11 seconds.
Wisconsin heads to Iowa City, Iowa, for the 2019 Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 10-12.
