The future of Wisconsin rowing arrives this fall
MADISON, Wis. -- Head Coach Chris Clark announced on Tuesdayday the 23 student-athletes who will join the Wisconsin men's rowing program this fall.
Â
"We look forward to welcoming these young men to campus in September," Clark said. "Since freshman are now allowed to race in varsity boats and there is no distinct 'Freshman 8' at the end of the year, the new group more than ever needs to develop quickly and be ready to compete right away. We think this group can not only handle it, but will rise to the challenge."
Â
The 23 recruits come from nine different states including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Virginia, Nevada, Massachusetts, Florida, New Jersey, Connecticut and Washington DC.
Â
"The six experienced high school rowers, 14 novice recruits, and three coxswains have all demonstrated throughout the recruiting process they are ready to step up and accept the challenge of Wisconsin Rowing. We are excited to get to work."
