Three Badgers earn preseason Big Ten honors

Senior captains named to preseason team
MADISON, Wis. – The Big Ten released the men's soccer preseason poll and three Badgers received preseason Big Ten honors.
Dean Cowdroy, Noah Leibold, and Robin Olofsson not only share this All-Big Ten honor, but are also this year's three senior captains on the Wisconsin men's soccer team. Each played in all 18 matches last season helping the team reach the Big Ten semifinals.
UW came in fifth as a team in the preseason poll behind defending Big Ten champion Indiana, the preseason favorite, and reigning NCAA champion Maryland, picked to finish second.
The Badgers commence regular season play with two home matches this upcoming weekend at McClimon Soccer Complex. On Friday, Wisconsin will take on UC Davis at 7 p.m. followed by UAB on Sunday at 7 p.m. Note, Sunday's game was originally scheduled for Monday.Â
