INDIANAPOLIS - In their first true road game of the season, the Wisconsin men's soccer team (2-3-0) fell to the Butler Bulldogs (3-1-0). The Badger offense couldn't make any connections with the net and did their best to defend the Bulldogs, who scored the only goal of the night to top the Badgers, 1-0.
There was little action in the first half, with possession of the ball being shared among both teams equally. Wisconsin senior,
Duncan Storey recorded a shot in the 26th minute, but in the end was saved by the Butler goalie. To contribute to the scoreless first half was Badger goalie,
Dean Cowdroy who stopped two shots on the night, including one in the 21st minute of the first half.Â
Coming out of half time the Bulldogs were hot, and quickly took the lead of the game with a score in the 48th minute. That lone goal would be what it took for Butler to claim a victory playing in the Sellick Bowl on a 90-degree night in Indianapolis.
UW tallied four shots for the match, but were failed to get on the board. Battling many injuries early in the season, the Badgers are gaining familiarity with each other on the field as new players are stepping up to fill the roles needed.Â
