Rain delay and 2OT ends 0-0 for Badgers and Terrapins

MADISON, Wis. – After a long-awaited kickoff due to rain delay, the Badgers (2-6-1, 0-1-1 Big Ten) played the Terrapins (4-3-1, 0-1-1 Big Ten) under the lights at the McClimon Soccer Complex. The double overtime game ended in a scoreless tie in the Badgers' second Big Ten game of the season.

The Terrapins started out hot by recording 12 shots in the first half. Thanks to goalie, Dean Cowdroy, and his six saves, Maryland couldn't score. In the 40th minute of the game the Terrapins went down a man after receiving a red card.

The offense looked promising for the Badgers in the second half. The team recorded 11 shots to Maryland's five, but couldn't get the go-ahead score. Regulation time wouldn't be enough, and the teams would go into OT.

There were no shots in the first OT period which meant more time was needed on the field.

The Badgers were hopeful and came into double OT determined. Wisconsin had two shots and Maryland one. The clock ran out and the score remained 0-0. This Big Ten game ended in a tie, moving the Badgers' Big Ten record to 0-1-1.
