Wisconsin Head Coach Greg Gard

Opening Statement
"Obviously proud of our guys and how they played today. Like I said a couple days ago, I liked how they played at Iowa but we just needed to finish out a little better. We got off to a great start today, we need to finish out a little bit better with handling the press. But the resiliency and the great contributions with Brad sitting out. I thought Aleem Ford maybe played the best game of his career. The bench was really into it, Brad did a great job, I told him it's way too early to start your coaching career and this is a one-time thing. I'm proud of our guys and the guys in that locker room that really embrace and appreciate what it means to wear that Wisconsin jersey.

On playing tough down the stretch

"After this I am going to go ice bath because my legs are honestly super heavy right now and a little sore. The win negates all of that. I feel really good, especially on the inside. Although my body may not be holding up to that standard that I'm feeling on the inside, I'm super excited. Just need to continue to recover and take these next couple of days to get my body back in place and get on the road to Minnesota."

On the past week
"I think that it brought us together. I feel like we knew we had to stick together with a limited number of guys playing today. I think that it really did just bring us together throughout practice, before shoot-around, everything like that. I think that our guys really stepped together and bought into what the coaches were saying. Again, the coaches did a really good job of staying level-headed and not getting too high, not getting too low. I feel like we were all together through the whole game and even the practice leading up to it. I feel like if we continue to do that we will definitely get some more wins."

On taking down No. 14 Michigan State
"Very excited, especially to get a tough win like that. With all of the circumstances, we knew that we had to come here and it was going to be a dog fight. We just tried to stay together and be positive. We knew the only way we would get the win tonight is if we believed in one another. It was just a great experience and to be able to get that win, it meant a lot and we just have to keep it rolling from here."
