MADISON, Wis. – The second-ranked Wisconsin women's hockey team looks to match its NCAA women's hockey attendance record on Sunday inside the Kohl Center at the sixth edition of Fill the Bowl.
UW will face No. 6 Ohio State in a 2 p.m. contest during which UW will recognize and thank first responders and military personnel.
Former Madison Police Chief Mike Koval, Mahlon Mitchell, the State President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin, and Joe Rasmussen, the Veteran Services Coordinator for University Veteran Services at UW and a US Marine Corps veteran, will all serve as honorary captains for the Cardinal and White.
UW Chief of Police and Associate Vice Chancellor of the UW Police Department Kristen Roman, a former Badger volleyball player, will sing the national anthem while UW Student Veterans will greet the team as they come out on the ice.
In addition, UW will recognize 2009 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award recipient Jessie Vetter, who was added to Wisconsin's Legends Walk at the Kohl Center, and the 1999-2000 UW women's hockey team, the first squad in program history.
Tickets are only $2 but are going fast as UW looks match its NCAA record of 15,359 fans set during the 2017 edition of Fill the Bowl.
Sunday will also be a Kohl Sunday Kid's Day as there will be mittens for kids ages 12 and under while supplies last.
Parking for Sunday's game is $5 for Lots 29, 46, 48 (accessible parking only), 83 and 91.
Doors to the Kohl Center will open 90 minutes before puck drop. Fans are asked to arrive early to allow for additional time to pass through metal detectors.
The Badgers open up their series with OSU on Saturday at LaBahn Arena with a 2 p.m. contest. Prior to puck drop, Wisconsin will recognize its senior class.
