Quick Six: Wisconsin welcomes Penn State

The Badgers to take on the Big Ten leaders at the Kohl Center

MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin men's hockey team will welcome the No. 9 Penn State Nittany Lions to the Kohl Center Friday and Saturday night for its last Big Ten home series of the season. Here are six quick things you should know before tuning in.

1. ONE FOR THE RECORD BOOKS: With four point against Michigan this weekend, including a goal and three assists, freshman Cole Caufield has now moved into a tie for ninth in all-time scoring as a freshman with 32 points total on the season. He has also moved into ninth place for freshman goals with 18. The last player to crack either of these leader boards was Luke Kunin in 2016.

2. POWER SURGE: After going 2-for-3 on the power play last weekend at Michigan, the Badgers have six power-play tallies in the last six games. Wisconsin is 6-for-15 with the man advantage during that stretch (40 percent). The power play has climbed to No. 20 in the country at 21.6 percent (21-for-97).
3. HOME, SWEET HOME (PSU EDITION): Wisconsin is 2-0-2 at the Kohl Center against Penn State the last two seasons, including a dramatic 8-5 comeback victory last season on Dec. 1, 2018. The last seven meetings in the series have all been played at Pegula Ice Arena at Penn State.
4. SCOUTING PENN STATE: The Big Ten leaders and the No. 9 Nittany Lions enter the Kohl Center with just two wins in their last eight contests including three ties to Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State. They boast two 20 point scorers with Nate Sucese and Evan Barratt at 24 and 21, respectively. Goaltender Peyton Jones ranks 14th in the country in save percentage at .922 on the year. Penn State as a whole ranks second in the nation in power-play percentage.

5. PJ PROMOTIONS: All fan's attending the Valentine's Day game are encouraged to wear their comfiest pajamas to the Kohl Center. The best pajamas will be given a chance to a TV and a $100 in Netflix. Friday night is also a student night with students arriving early receiving a Wisconsin Hockey Onesie, available while supplies last. Tickets are available here.

6. HOW TO WATCH: Both games will take place at the Kohl Center at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday night with a radio broadcast on 1310 WIBA. Friday streams at BTN+, while Saturday night's game will be available on FOX Sports Wisconsin.
