Quick Six: Wisconsin hosts Arizona State in final home series of season

Badger seniors to be honored against Sun Devils

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's hockey team plays host to their final home series of the season this weekend when No. 9 Arizona State comes to Madison. Here are six quick things you need to know before making the trip to the Kohl Center.

1. HOLLOWAY'S HOT WEEKEND: Freshman forward Dylan Holloway was the hero of Friday night's Valentine's Day matchup with the No. 9 Penn State Nittany Lions, netting the game-winning goal with just over a minute left to play in the game. The projected first-round draft pick in next year's NHL draft recorded his first multi-point game Friday against Penn State and added another goal in Saturday night's game. Holloway is hot, on a career-long, four-game point streak during which he has three goals and five points.

2. A FRESHMAN'S FIRST: Freshman defensemen Mike Vorlicky tallied his first career goal to kick off scoring for the Badgers Friday night versus Penn State. The defenseman added an assist to the Friday night Badger win, notching the first multi-point game.

3. SENIOR SENDOFF: This weekend's series will mark the final games at the Kohl Center this season. This year's team boasts three seniors in Max Zimmer, Jack Berry and Johan Blomquist. The three seniors will be honored before Saturday's game.

4. SCOUTING ARIZONA STATE: The No. 9 Arizona State Sun Devils bring a 22-9-3 record with them to the Kohl Center along with a seven-game win streak. Among common opponents, ASU had similar results with splits against Clarkson and Omaha. Arizona State also split with Michigan State. With 22 wins on the season, Arizona State recently broke its program record for most wins in a single season.

In terms of individual producers, the Sun Devils boast four 30-point scorers including leading scorer James Sanchez. Arizona State's projected goalie is Evan Debrouwer. He boasts a .925 save percentage and a 2.31 goals-per-game average.

5. REUNION WEEKEND: Over 100 Wisconsin men's hockey alumni are expected at the Kohl Center this weekend. The 1990 NCAA championship team and the 2000 MacNaughton Cup championship squad will be recognized on the ice during Saturday's contest, while the 1970 team, the first to make the NCAA tournament, and the 2010 NCAA runners-up will be acknowledged.
