Here are five more things to know before the Badgers step on the mats on Sunday:
1. The match starts at 2 p.m. and will be streamed live on BTN+ (subscription required). Extra matches will also occur.
2. The Cornhuskers picked up two wins last weekend at home, knocking off Northwestern, 26-10, and Maryland, 36-0. Seven Huskers were undefeated against their opponents, led by Liam Cronin at 125 after he earned a 15-5 major decision and a pin in 2:19. Taylor Venz (184) earned a tech fall in 4:57 against Northwestern's Jon Halvorsen, in addition to a pin in extra matches and a 4-2 decision against Maryland. Heavyweight Christian Lance also collected three wins, with a 12-4 major decision against NU's Jack Heyob, in addition to two pins against Maryland — one in extra matches and one of Garrett Kappes in team dual. 3. Then 22nd-ranked Wisconsin opened the home season on Sunday with an exciting upset victory against No. 16 Purdue at the UW Field House. The Badgers defeated the Boilermakers 22-14 in team scoring. The Badgers and Boilermakers swapped leads through the first seven matches, but sophomore Eric Barnett turned a stingy back-and-forth tied battle into a sudden pin at 125 pounds. Ranked 27th in the nation by TrackWrestling, Barnett earned the upset fall of Purdue's second-ranked Devin Schroder late in the second period at 4:29. Redshirt freshman Kyle Burwick also collected an 8-0 major decision over Nate Cummings.
4. The Big Ten named Barnett as Co-Wrestler of the Week with Iowa's Spencer Lee. This is Barnett's first career weekly B1G honor.
More information on starters, rankings and team stats are available in this week's match notes.
