Wisconsin shoots seventh-lowest score in program history

SUGAR GROVE, Ill. — Wisconsin finished third at the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate after shooting an 853 (-11), tying the seventh-lowest score in program history.

Cameron Huss led the Badgers, finishing second overall with a 206 (-10). Griffin Barela joins him near the top of the leaderboard, finishing third with a 208 (-8).

Coalter Smith joins Barela and Huss under par, finishing T18 with a two-under-par 214.

Monday, October 4

Huss shot a five-under-par 67 during the final round to catapult himself into second place. His 67 is a new 18-hole career-best. Meanwhile, his 54-hole score of 206 is also a new career-best and ties the fifth-lowest individual 54-hole score in program history. The sophomore's second-place finish is his best career finish and his second top-five finish this season.

Barela's third-place finish is his third top-three finish in his time at Wisconsin and his second this season after taking third at the Badger Invitational last week. He led the field in par-4 scoring, averaging a 3.83 and shooting five-under on par-4s during the tournament.

Huss and Barela both tied the lead for most birdies during the tournament, each carding 16 over the three rounds,

The Badgers have one tournament left in the fall season. The team will head to Loxley, Alabama to compete in the Steelwood Intercollegaite on October 30-31.


Sunday, October 3

The Badgers shot a five-under-par 283 to move up three spots into second place at the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate on Sunday.

Huss led for the day, shooting a four-under-par 68. He tied his career-best 18-hole score at 68 and set a new 36-hole career-low at 139. His previous best was 141.

Barela was just one back from Huss, carding a three-under-par 69. The pair are currently tied for third at five under.

Smith joined Huss and Barela under par. He shot a one-under-par 71 to get back to even-par.

Graham Moody has shot 149 through the first two rounds to tie his 36-hole career-low at 149.

Monday will mark the final 18 holes of the tournament with a shotgun starting at 9:30 a.m.
 

Saturday, October 2

Wisconsin finished the first round of the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate tied for fifth after shooting a two-under-par 286.

Two Badgers finished under par with Barela leading at two-under-par and Huss at one-under. Both head into the second round in the top 15.

Moody finished the day at even par and tied for 26th.
