Badgers head to Kentucky for final fall tournament
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin is set to compete in the Olde Stone Invitational on Oct. 25-26.
Here are five things to know before the team tees it up for the final tournament of the fall season.
1. Last Time Out: The Badgers competed in the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah Country Club on Oct. 10-12. The team finished with a +18 882. Emily Lauterbach led Wisconsin, finishing with a one-over-par 217. Her first-round score of 68 marked a new 18-hole career-low.
2. The Course: The Club at Olde Stone is located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Designed by Arthur Hills, the course covers 220 acres and features Bentgrass greens and Kentucky Bluegrass rough. It hosted the NCAA Division I Regional Championship in 2009. The course will be playing as a 6,235-yard par-72 for the tournament.
3. The Tournament: This is the inaugural year of the Olde Stone Invitational. Monday will be a 36-hole shotgun starting at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday will be an 18-hole shotgun also starting at 8:45. Should play not finish on Monday, it will resume Tuesday morning before the final 18-holes are played.
4. The Field: Competing in the tournament is Augusta State, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, host Louisville, Middle Tennessee, Marshall, Memphis, Morehead State, Minnesota, Notre Dame, North Texas, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Western Kentucky. Competing for Wisconsin are Chloe Chan, Mackenzie Hahn, Vanessa Ho, Emily Lauterbach and Tracy Lee.
