Five Things to Know: Pratt, Vile set for ITA All-American Championships

Badgers pair earned wild card spot for doubles play with strong performance over the summer
MADISON Wis. — Wisconsin's Jared Pratt and Sebastian Vile are set to make their fall season debuts this weekend and represent the Badgers at the ITA All-American Championships.
Pratt and Vile both earned a wild card spot into the qualifying doubles round because of their success as finalists at the ITA Summer Nationals Their matches will take place Monday and Tuesday.
In addition, they'll compete in the pre-qualifying round of singles play Saturday and Sunday.
The tournament's main draws will be held Oct. 6-10.
Here are five things to know heading into the tournament:
1. Get to Know this Weekend's Players: Pratt, a senior from South Carolina, finished last season with a team-best 9-9 overall record primarily in the No.1 singles spot. He clinched four total matches for Wisconsin over the season. As for doubles, he combined with Robin Parts for a 6-14 overall record at the No.1 doubles spot. Vile, a senior who transferred to UW from Minnesota, finished last season with a 11-8 overall singles record for the Gophers and led the team in wins. He competed alongside former teammate Jackson Allen, going 8-5 in doubles play. He will make his Badgers debut at the ITA All-American Championships.
2. About ITA All-American Championships: This year's event marks the 41st annual ITA All-American Championships and the 14th straight time the event has been hosted by the University of Tulsa. The Badgers have competed in the tournament every year since 2013, with the exception of 2020, which was canceled due to COVID-19. The tournament will be held at two venues: the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the University of Tulsa's campus and Case Tennis Center at LaFortune Park.
3. Fall Schedule Underway: Wisconsin's fall season is underway after last week's appearance in the Bobby Bayliss Invitational by Daniel Nzuhny and Mihailo Popovic. The rest of the Badgers' schedule includes the ITA Midwest Regional Championships, ITA National Championships and the Big Ten Individual Championships.
