Quick Six: Badgers travel to No. 15 Notre Dame

Wisconsin caps off fourth-straight series against ranked opponents

MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin men's hockey team is back on the road this week with a two-game series against Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12-13.

Here are six quick things to know before tuning in:

1 - BROCK-STAR: Senior forward Brock Caufield was named Big Ten third star of the week following his stellar performance against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Caufield came in clutch Friday night with the game-tying goal and overtime game-winning goal to defeat No. 5 Minnesota, 4-3, in front of a rabid Crease Creatures student section and crowd. He also earned an assist in game two with the Gophers for a three-point series and points in his last three-straight games.

2 - FOUR FOR FOUR: Freshman defenseman Corson Ceulemans hit his stride with a four-point series against Minnesota last weekend. The Columbus Blue Jackets' first-round draft pick notched his first career goal on the power play in Friday's game to spark the Badgers' comeback effort. He notched assists on both Caufield's goals for a three-point night, but he wasn't done yet. Ceulemans also tallied an assist on Roman Ahcan's power-play goal the following night for one goal and three assists on the weekend.

3 - EIGHT STRAIGHT: UW skates in its seventh and eight consecutive games against ranked opponents this weekend at No. 15 Notre Dame. UW's prior six games came against No. 3 St. Cloud State (road), No. 2/3 Michigan (road) and No. 5 Minnesota (home). UW went 2-4-0 during that stretch.

4 - POWER-PLAY IMPROVEMENT: Despite struggling early on in the season, the Badgers found their groove on the power-play this past weekend. Wisconsin went 2-5 on the man advantage with goals in both games against Minnesota.

5 - SCOUTING NOTRE DAME: Notre Dame posted a home sweep over Holy Cross, winning 5-2 and 4-1 last Thursday and Friday. They are 0-2 in Big Ten conference play, having dropped two games to Minnesota 4-1 and 3-2.

Junior forward Max Ellis currently leads the Irish with five goals and six assists for 11 points. Goaltender and Cornell transfer Matthew Galajda has been solid in net so far, posting five wins, including a shutout over RIT, in six games played.

6 - HOW TO WATCH: Puck drop for Friday's game is set for 6:30 p.m CT on NBCSN and 5 p.m. CT on NBC Sports Chicago for Saturday's game. The games stream on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app. Follow along on Twitter at @BadgerMHockey
