Here are six quick things to know before tuning in:

- ON THE ROAD (AGAIN): The Badgers are playing their fourth series in five weeks on the road this weekend at Michigan State. Wisconsin will be rewarded with eight of its following 10 games at the Kohl Center, plus a home exhibition game. UW's two regular-season games not played at home in the next 10 will take place in Milwaukee at Fiserv Forum during the KwikTrip Holiday Face-Off.

- LAST TIME IN LANSING: The last time the Badgers were at Munn Ice Arena they beat MSU 2-1 for the title of Big Ten regular-season champions. The title was Wisconsin's first since the formation of the Big Ten conference in 2014 where they won the inaugural Big Ten tournament.

- BACK IN THE LINE-UP: Fifth-year senior Tyler Inamoto returned to the lineup last weekend against Notre Dame after missing seven games due to injury. Freshman defenseman Corson Ceulemans who tallied four points against Minnesota before suffering an injury in the second game is marked as a possible return for this weekend. Sophomore forward Owen Lindmark is back on the ice as he recovers from a lower body injury.

- KEYS TO SUCCESS: UW's formula for success this season has included holding its opponent to two goals or less (3-0), scoring four or more goals (3-0) and holding its opponent without a power-play goal (3-1). Wisconsin has been strong in third periods through  its first 12 games, outscoring opponents 10-6 in the final frame and leads 1-0 in overtimes.

- SCOUTING MSU: Mitchell Lewandowski and Josh Nodler (12 games played) currently lead the Spartans with four goals and six assists each. Lewandowski's 10 points come in just seven games played this season for an average of 1.43 points per game. Senior goaltender Drew DeRidder posted a 2-0 shutout against Ferris State last Thursday and has a ninth-best-in-the-nation .938 save percentage.

- HOW TO WATCH: Friday's game takes place at 6 p.m. CT and Saturday's game starts at 7 p.m. Both games stream on B1G+. Follow along on Twitter at @BadgerMHockey
