MADISON, Wis. — Just as the Wisconsin football team has been a model of consistency of late, so too has its list of likely bowl destinations.
The Badgers, ranked 15th in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, have won six straight games entering their Big Ten Conference encounter with Nebraska on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Camp Randall Stadium.
The surge has enabled UW (7-3 overall, 5-2 in league play) to become bowl eligible for the 20th consecutive year, the third-longest streak among Football Bowl Subdivision programs behind Georgia (25) and Oklahoma (23).
For now, unofficial forecasters have Wisconsin projected to be assigned to one of three bowls: the Citrus in Orlando, Florida, on Jan. 1; the Outback in Tampa, Florida, on Jan. 1; and the Music City in Nashville, Tennessee, on Dec. 30.
However, the pool of opportunities figures to get deeper as long as the Badgers continue to win.
They control their own destiny in the Big Ten West Division with two regular-season games remaining. If they run the table — after hosting Nebraska they play at Minnesota on Nov. 27 — they will play in the conference title game, set for Dec. 4 in Indianapolis, for the seventh time since 2011.
Here's the latest sampling of bowl projections:
College Football News has Wisconsin facing Texas A&M in the Citrus.
