IOWA CITY, IOWA -- The Wisconsin men's and women's track teams traveled to the Iowa City, Iowa, on Saturday to compete in the Jimmy Grant Invitational. Select sprints, jumps, and hurdles athletes competed against teams from Drake, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, and Iowa.
Standing out for the Badger women was junior Destiny Huven. The defending Big Ten outdoor champion in the 100-meter hurdles won the 60-meter hurdles on Saturday in 8.37 seconds.
Sophomore Kiley Robbins also started her season off with a win, claiming the 60-meter dash. She finished the race in 7.49, followed by junior Taylor Gilling, who took second in 7.59 while senior Armoni Brown placed fifth in 7.68. Brown also finished seventh in the long jump at 18 feet, 1 3/4 inches while Robbins and Gilling placed seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 200 meters in 25.33 and 25.39.
For the Badger men, junior Colin Enz won the 300 meters in a personal best time of 33.99. Sophomore Davis Wenthe finished second in 34.48. Wenthe also took seventh in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.31 Max Peckenschneider picked up two fourth-place finishes. The senior finished fourth in the 60 meters in 7.08 and fourth in the 200 meters in 22.36.
