MADISON, Wis. — It's been a flurry of scheduling changes over the past week, but Wisconsin wrestling will now see 11 Badgers compete (both attached and unattached) in the 2021 Illinois Matmen Open at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois on Wednesday, Dec. 29 and Thursday, Dec. 30.

Ranked 15th nationally in the latest NWCA poll, Wisconsin was originally scheduled to wrestle in the Midlands Championship hosted by Northwestern on the same dates in the same arena. Midlands was canceled by Northwestern due to COVID-19 concerns.

The Matmen Open has shared more than 20 collegiate men's Division I teams will participate in the tournament.
