GENEVA, Ohio - Concluding day two of the Big Ten Conference Indoor Championships, two Badgers have qualified for finals tomorrow in their respective events and the Wisconsin men's track and field team sits in second-place, tied with Minnesota tallying 25 points. Iowa holds the No.1 spot going into the final day of competition, tallying 46 points.

Qualified Badgers

Senior Austin Rendon won his heat in the 800-meter preliminary round, inching past Ohio State's Nick Miller to cross in 1 minutes, 50.19 seconds. Rendon will compete in the finals on Saturday at 10:35 a.m. CT.

Sophomore Lawrence Johnson ran a personal record time of 6.77 in the 60-meter dash preliminary round, which will advance him to finals on Saturday at 10:25 a.m. This time puts the Waunakee, Wisconsin, native at No.9 on Wisconsin's all-time indoor performance list.

Peyton Frankenreider competed in the triple jump, placing 10th with a jump of 47 feet, 11 1/4 inches.

Heptathlon

The Badgers' freshman trio finished up day two of the heptathlon. Cade Amborn finished first for the Badger and eighth overall, tallying 4,985 points. Max Herkert placed 10th, racking up 4,880 points and Quinn Lansill closed it out for the Badgers, placing 11th with 4,862 points.

Lansill brought home a first-place finish in the 1,000-meter run, crossing the line 2:37.52. The Brooklyn, New York, native also secured a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.32. Amborn placed eighth crossing the line in 8.36 with Herkert following, coming in ninth place in 8:58. Herkert and Amborn also tied for seventh in the pole vault, clearing 13-11 1/4.

The Badgers compete in the third and final day of the Big Ten Championships beginning with the 60-meter finals, which Johnson will compete in at 10:25 a.m. This will be followed by the 800-meter finals at 10:35 a.m. with Rendon looking to improve upon his fourth-place finish of a year ago. .
