GENEVA, Ohio – Behind a second-place finish by Jordan Hirsbrunner in the pentathlon, the Wisconsin women's track and field team sits in sixth place in the team standings with 20 points. Minnesota leads the team scores with 50 points while Nebraska is second with 42 points after six events. The final day of the championship will be held on Saturday at The SPIRE.
Freshman Mackenzie Heyroth also scored for the Badgers in the pentathlon, finishing eighth with 3,564 points. The Lodi, Wisconsin, native also recorded a personal best in the shot put, finishing fourth with a toss of 39-5 ¾. She also picked up top-10 finishes in the 800 meters (seventh in 2:26.33) and 60-meter hurdles (ninth in 9.04).
Junior Madison Mooney advanced to the finals of the 800 meters in 2:08.54, winning her heat and finishing fifth overall.

Hirsbrunner, Heyroth score in pentathlon
Hirsbrunner improved upon her sixth-place finish of a year ago, earning a silver medal in the pentathlon with 3,963 points. The sophomore started her day, finishing fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.80 seconds. She tied for fifth in the high jump at 5-feet, 4 ½ inches before throwing a personal best of 44-3 ½ in the shot put to finish second. The Monroe, Wisconsin, native took seventh in the long jump at 17-3 ¾ before winning the 800 meters in 2:18.88.How do you compete in 5 consecutive events?

Robbins, Mooney advance to finals
Wisconsin also picked up qualifiers in the 60-meter dash and 800 meters. Freshman Kiley Robbins advanced to the final of the 60-meter dash, finishing second in her heat and third overall in 7.42.Junior Madison Mooney advanced to the finals of the 800 meters in 2:08.54, winning her heat and finishing fifth overall.
