LEESBURG, Florida -- The Wisconsin softball team dropped its final game in Florida on Sunday as the Badgers fell 2-1 to No. 23 Michigan at the Sleepy Hollow Sports Complex.
Wisconsin (4-8) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second thanks to a pair of doubles by
Morgan Kummer and
Megan Donahue. Kummer began the inning with a double to right center before advancing to third on a
Lauren Foster sacrifice bunt. Kummer scored after Donahue launched a double down the right field line to give UW its first lead of the weekend against the Wolverines (9-3).
Michigan answered with a run in the bottom half of the second to tie the game at 1-1 before taking a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning thanks to a solo home run.
Haley Hestekin earned the start for UW, pitching five innings while allowing only two runs and collecting three strike outs.Â
