IOWA CITY, IA- The Wisconsin women's tennis team battled down to the wire against Iowa, but came up just short in singles and suffered a 4-3 loss on Friday at the Hawkeye Tennis Center.
The Badgers (7-5, 6-4 Big Ten) got off to a strong start by winning the doubles point. At no. 3 doubles,
Ava Markham and
Antonela Stoica won their match, 6-2, against Vipasha Mehra and Danielle Bauers of Iowa, while
Nastasya Semenovski and
Xinyu Cai clinched the doubles point for UW by winning their match, 6-3, at the first position.
Cai and Semenovski brought home the lone singles victories for Wisconsin by winning their matches, 6-3, 6-2, and, 7-5, 6-7, 6-1, respectively.
