Wisconsin sits in fifth place after solid races in 100 back and 200 free relay
COLUMBUS, Ohio - In the fourth day of competition in the Big Ten Championships, the Wisconsin men's swimming team continued to dominate with three Top 10 finishes. The team currently sits in fifth place with 523 points.
Wes Jekel, placed sixth in the 100 Back with a time of 46.42. He was seeded eighth after the preliminary round and swam a faster time in his finals race to go up two places.
The 200 Free Relay took sixth place. The team of Andrew Benson, Wes Jekel, Dylan Delaney and Erik Gessner swam for a time of 1:18.03.
Another notable finish came from Andrew Benson in the 100 Breast. He took first in the B final and ninth overall with a time of 52.65

"Once again the guys out performed their seed times from this morning. Erik, Tadzio, and Wes got the ball rolling with great 100 backs, Andrew got his hand on the wall to win the consultation final of the 100 breast and Constantin and Drew both put up strong 200 flys. Andrew then led off our 200 Free Relay with the second fastest time in our program's history. One more day. We'll be ready!"
