MADISON, Wis.-- The Wisconsin softball team saw its two-game winning streak come to a close on Saturday afternoon as the Badgers dropped 3-1 contest to Iowa at Goodman Diamond.Â
The Hawkeyes (14-9) jumped to the lead in the first inning with a two-hit two-run start from Riley Sheehy and Brylee Klosterman. They followed their momentum with another run from Nia Carter in the third inning.
Wisconsin (7-16) scored in the seventh inning as
Morgan Kummer scored after reaching off of a single, but the Badgers were unable to complete the rally against the Hawkeyes.
Junior
Maddie Schwartz pitched all seven innings against the Hawkeyes, allowing only four hits while earning five strikeouts.Â
Badger's
Peyton Bannon,
Lauren Foster, Ally Milesh, and
Morgan Kummer each had one hit while
Megan Donahue ended with two.Â
