MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin senior
Brad Davison announced on Wednesday that he will return to play for the Badgers in 2021-22.
"I want to thank my coaching staff for their patience during this time, and say thanks to my current and future teammates who played a huge part in helping me make this decision," Davison said in a statement posted on his Instagram account.
"After taking some time to reflect, there is no place I would rather be than Madison! Being a Badger is a privilege. I am grateful for one last ride with my coaches and teammates this upcoming season! I would not want to go out any other way than playing in front of Badger Nation at the Kohl Center!"

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NCAA announced last fall that it would offer eligibility relief to winter sport athletes regardless of how many games they played during the 2020-21 academic year.
"We're excited to have Brad return for another season," head coach
Greg Gard said. "Being able to have a player and person of his quality in our program is extremely valuable. His experience and ability will really help expedite the growth of our younger guys and he's excited to be part of this talented group. This fifth year of eligibility is an awesome opportunity for both Brad and our program."
Davison has appeared in all 128 games he has been eligible for, including 124 straight games. Starting all 31 games last season, Davison finished third on the team in scoring (10.0 ppg), second in assists (2.4 apg) and shot a team-high 39.1% from 3-point range.
The Maple Grove, Minn. native is tied for 19th on UW's all-time scoring list with 1,363 career points, while also ranking fifth in 3-point field goals (222), fifth in career free-throw percentage (.832), 12th in steals (132) and fourth in games started (124).
