Former UW standout will play for Team Canada

MADISON, Wis. – Former Wisconsin softball standout Kelsey (Jenkins) Harshman will play on the world's biggest stage this month as the three-time All-Big Ten honoree will play for Team Canada at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Team Canada opens action at the Olympics against Mexico on Wednesday at 1 a.m. CT before facing the U.S. later that day at 7 p.m. CT. Both games can be seen live on NBCSN.

Harshman and Team Canada return to action on Friday with an 8 p­.m. CT game against Australia ­. After playing host Japan on Sunday at 12:30 a.m. CT, Canada will wrap up pool play against Italy on Monday, July 26 at 12:30 a.m. CT. Canada's final three games can be seen online through Peacock.

The bronze medal game will take place on Monday, July 26 at 11 p.m. CT with the gold medal contest taking place on Tuesday, July 27 at 6 a.m. Both medal games can be seen live on NBCSN.

Harshman made her mark on the Badgers program as its first three-time first-team All-Big Ten selection in school history. A three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Harshman started every game of her Badger career. The Delta, British Columbia, native hit .369 during her career and had 218 hits.
