Five Things to Know: Badgers travel to South Bend to continue fall season

Mihailo Popovic and Daniel Nuzhny will play in Bobby Bayliss Invitational
MADISON Wis. -- Wisconsin's Mihailo Popovic and Daniel Nuzhny are set to make their fall season debut shtis weekend and will represent the Badgers in the Bobby Baylis Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame.
Matches will take place Friday through Sunday, with Popovic and Nuzhny competing in both singles and doubles. The first round of singles, followed by the first round of doubles, will occur on Friday, starting at 11 a.m. Saturday includes two rounds of singles, beginning at 9 a.m., with one round of doubles and one round of singles at 9 a.m. Sunday.
Here are five things to know heading into the weekend.
1. Get to Know this Weekend's Players: Popovic, a sophomore from Serbia, finished his debut season as a Badger with a 6-8 overall record primarily in the No.5 singles spot. As for doubles, he combined with partners Lenard Soha and later Tim Dzhurinskiy for an 8-5 overall record in the No.3 doubles spot. Nuzhny, a senior from New Jersey, finished last season with a 1-2 record overall in singles and played just one doubles match with Tim Dzurinskiy in the No.3 spot.
2. UW Recent History at the Bayliss Invitational: This year's event marks the fourth time in five years that Wisconsin has competed in the Bobby Bayliss Invitational. In 2016, the Badgers came out with two undefeated doubles teams. They also competed in the event in 2017 and 2019.
3. Fall Schedule Underway: Wisconsin's fall season is underway after last week's appearance in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic by Robin Parts and Lenard Soha. The rest of the Badgers' schedule includes the ITA All-American Championships, ITA Midwest Regional Championships, ITA National Championships and the Big Ten Individual Championships.
