Five Things to Know: The Nuttycombe is Back

Badgers to welcome 24 ranked teams to Madison on Friday
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's cross country team continues its season as this week marks the annual Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour on Friday, October 14 at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.
The women's "B" race will begin at 11 a.m. while the women's championship race starts at 12:20 p.m.
There is no spectator parking at the cross country course or University Ridge. Spectator parking will be located at Blackhawk Church in Middleton, Wisconsin.
Spectator shuttles are available to transport spectators for $8 round trip. Accessible shuttles will be available. The shuttle service will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude one hour after the final race has finished. The shuttle will pick up and drop off at the upper level of the parking structure at Blackhawk Church.

THE NUTTY IS BACK: Following another successful outing two weekends ago at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational the men's and women's cross country teams are eager to return back to their home course. Friday's race will mark the 13th Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational that UW has hosted at the Zimmer Championship course and is sure to be a can't-be-missed event.

EYEING UP THE COMPETITION: 36 teams will be competing in the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational Presented by Under Armour. Of those 36 teams, 24 of them are ranked in the top 30 for United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association National Coaches' Poll. Of those teams in the ranks, 8 are ranked in the top-10.

BADGERS TO WATCH: Racing at The Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational will include Badgers who have led the pack so far this season. Redshirt junior Shea Ruhly is back competing for the Badgers after last running at the Roy Griak Invitational, covering the 6k course in 20 minutes, 59.1 seconds for fifth place. Another Badger to watch out for is redshirt sophomore Emma Watcke, who led UW at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational, running the 6 kilometer course in 21 minutes, 30.8 seconds for fourth place.
