UW head coach Mark Johnson
On the UW freshmen adjusting to collegiate hockey:
"They're adjusting, they're making strides. Every game is not gonna be a perfect game for them. It's gonna be an experience for them. They're growing and if they have success like they did tonight that'll certainly help their confidence."
On Jungels' first goal:
"You could sense the energy on the bench when it went into the back of the net because everybody was excited for her. It really set the tone early on. I was able to play everybody consistently throughout the night so that's good too and everybody gets to feel good about themselves. Now you talk about being consistent from game to game and we'll see what happens tomorrow night as we start that game, if we can play at that consistent level that we're expecting ourselves to play at."
Freshman forward Kirsten Simms
On team preparations for the series:
"All week we have been talking about outworking them right from the drop of the puck and I guess we kind of just went in with that mindset, had more energy than them, knew we were going to outwork them and it kind of just worked for us."
Freshman defender Vivian JungelsĀ
On the team's connection:
"I think we have a really good group of girls here and they are all just like family, so I think that shows we have each other's backs⦠I think coming in as a freshman, we were here all summer so that helped and we have really good leaders ahead of us that are setting a good example."
