Duo leads WCHA in goals, assists and points
MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin women's hockey duo of Lacey Eden and Caroline Harvey each added hardware to their collection on Tuesday as Eden was named the WCHA Forward of the Month for September while Harvey was named the WCHA Rookie of the Month.Â
The underclass pair each earned WCHAÂ weekly honors this season as Eden was named the WCHA Forward of the Week on Sept. 24 and Harvey was named the league's rookie of the week yesterday.Â
Eden earns her second WCHA monthly honor after tallying a league-high 11 points in just four games. Eden not only leads the WCHA in points, but is in first for goals with five and tied for the lead for assists with fellow honoree Caroline Harvey with six. The forward has recorded a point in every UW game so far in the season and has had three multi-point games. This monthly honor is Eden's first since being named the WCHA Rookie of the Month in February of 2021.Â
Harvey is coming off an impressive performance on Sept. 30 against Lindenwood as the freshman became the first UW freshman and blueliner to record five assists in a single game. Her six assists during the month was tied for the league lead with Eden while her six points ranked second among WCHA defenders while her +9 plus/minus rating is the best mark by a WCHA reargaurd this season.
The No. 5 Badgers open conference play this weekend with a series against St. Thomas at LaBahn Arena. Puck drop on Friday is at 7 p.m. while Saturday's series finale begins at 6 p.m. Tickets remain for both games on UWBadgers.com.
