Wisconsin outscored by Seton Hall, 83-72

Schramek notches career-high four 3-point FG

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands — The University of Wisconsin women's basketball team competed against Seton Hall in its second game of the 2022 U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam women's basketball tournament in St. Thomas on Friday and fell 83-72.

Brooke Schramek recorded a career-high in 3-pointers made with four, and ended the game with 18 points (7-13 FG, 4-5 3FG).

Copeland chipped in with 6 points (2-7 FG, 2-6 3FG) after Avery LaBarbera exited the game with injury, and helped compensate for the foul trouble the Badgers found themselves in.

Wisconsin wasted no time getting the scoring going, as Julie Pospisilova drained a quick layup. It was a close game early on and remained tied, 22-22, at the end of the quarter as Copeland drained a long last-second 3-pointer. LaBarbera, who had accumulated four points, (2-6 FG, 0-1 3FG), two rebounds and one assist in 14 minutes left the game with injury and did not return to the floor. After the half, the Pirates continued to consistently score, and the Badgers did not have a response for Lauren-Par-Lane's 37-point performance.

Wisconsin shot 42.4% (28-66) from the field, including 29.2% (7-24) from 3-point range. The Badgers drained 75.0% (9-12) of their free throws.

Seton Hall shot 45.9% (28-61) from field-goal range, including 30.4% (7-23) from three and 80.0% (20-25) from the free-throw line. Park-Lane controlled the offense for Seton Hall, scoring a career-high 37 points (11-21 FG, 3-9 3FG, 12-14 FT) and added four assists, two rebounds and one steal.  The 5-foot-3 guard scored 45 percent of the Pirate's points and was a commanding presence for all 40 minutes she was on the court.
