Howell led Wisconsin with 22 points
MADISON, Wis. The Wisconsin women's basketball team (0-0, 0-0 Big Ten) defeated UW-River Falls (0-0, 0-0 WIAC) 104-40. This is the first time the Badgers have hit the 100 point mark since 2022.Â
The Badgers shot 40-of-76 (53%) in the paint and finished with 15 three-pointers as a unit.Â

Destiny Howell led the team with 22 points, nine of those being three-pointers. Kyrah Daniels added 16 points for the Badgers, shooting 50% overall. Ronnie Porter had a near perfect offensive game with 14 points, going five-for-six in field goals, three-for-three in three-pointers and 1-for-1 in free throws.Â

How it happened:
The Badgers took control in the first quarter, starting with Ronnie Porter opening the game with a three-pointer. UW went on a 20 point run spanning over 6 minutes and 29 seconds in the first quarter.Â
Nikki Kerstein started off the second quarter with a layup, booking her first unofficial points as a Badger. Kerstein added to that tally, scoring seven points and leading the team in assists.
Wisconsin dominated the first half holding UW-River falls to just five field goals. They went on multiple scoring runs including a 20-0 stint that lasted for 6:29.Â
Destiny Howell got into double-digits in the first half, helping the Badgers go on a 9-0 and 8-0 run in the second quarter.Â
The Badgers were up 53-17 after holding the Falcons scoreless for 2:05 to round out the first half.Â
UW scored 32 points in the third quarter, 16 of those coming from the bench. The UW bench remained consistent throughout the game, scoring 51 points overall.Â
The Badgers held strong in their defense, forcing 31 turnovers and having 23 steals, with 42 of their points being off of turnovers.
Ronnie Porter got the Badgers to mile-marker 100 with a layup AND1 and the game was finished by Leena Patibandla.Â
