BEMIDJI, Minn. – The second-ranked Wisconsin women's hockey team completed a sweep of Bemidji State on Saturday afternoon thanks to a 4-1 triumph at the Sanford Center. 

Vivian Jungels, Britta Curl and Kirsten Simms all found the back of the net for the Badgers (13-2-1, 10-1-1-1-1-0 WCHA) to lead UW to their ninth-straight win over the Beavers (4-15-1, 1-13-0-0-0-0 WCHA).  

After a scoreless first period, Jungels broke the silence with a goal on a rebound less than a minute into the second. It marked the second-straight game Jungels has scored in and gives her goals in three of the last four games. 

Curl doubled the lead with her fourth goal of the series early in the third period.

The Beavers scored on a power play with just over five minutes remaining before Simms scored her second tally of the series to extend the lead to 3-1.

Curl put the game out of reach with an empty-net strike with 35 seconds remaining to lift UW to a 4-1 triumph.

Senior Cami Kronish stopped nine shots to earn her seventh win of the season. 

Three Notes of the Game
- The Badgers completed the season sweep of the Beavers, outscoring BSU 32-3 in the four games. 
- Curl, Casey O'Brien and Sophie Shirley each enjoyed seven points over the weekend. Curl had five goals and two assists while O'Brien and Shirley each posted two goals and five helpers. 
- UW outshot Bemidji State, 42-10, including a 32-7 margin in the final 40 minutes of action.

"Definitely taking each game one by one as they come, you can't just expect something based on the last time you played a team, especially in this league. We have to have a short memory and come to each game ready to play."

"I think we came out pretty strong, our first game we obviously took over. Bemidji played us really well in both games and we're happy to come out with the sweep."

The Badgers will head to Mankato, Minnesota, next weekend for a WCHA clash at Minnesota State. Puck drop on Friday is set for 6 p.m. while Saturday's series finale begins at 3 p.m.
