Badgers to add Johnson to 2026-27 roster

UW welcomes Sun Prairie native to program
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin women's hockey is adding defender Lauren Johnson to the roster for the 2026-27 season, the program announced Monday.
A native of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Johnson joins the Badgers after spending two seasons at Union College. Johnson appeared in 34 games for the Garnet Chargers, recording two assists in the 2025-26 season.
She excelled in the classroom, ACHA/Krampade All-American Scholar accolades in 2025 and a spot on the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team.
Prior to her collegiate career, Johnson attended Edgewood High School and played for the Madison Metro Lynx, where she earned a spot on the Wisconsin Prep Hockey Freshman Girls All-State Team. She then spent two seasons with Culver Academy, captaining the team in 2022-23 before spending the 2023-24 season at the North American Hockey Academy.
