Badgers fight until the end but come up short at Princeton

Wisconsin picks up trio of singles wins on the road

PRINCETON, N.J. — The Wisconsin men's tennis team showed no shortage of fight, but the Badgers came up on the short end of a 4-3 decision at Princeton Friday at Jadwin Gymnasium. 
 
Despite going down 1-0 in doubles play, Wisconsin's duo of Jared Pratt and Daniel Nuzhny got their first win as a pair, defeating Thomas Bosancic and Will Peters of Princeton 6-1. The match was also hometown win for Nuzhny, a New Jersey native. 
 
In singles, senior Lenard Soha dominated Princeton's Karl Poling, ranked No. 68 overall, to put Wisconsin on the board with a quick two-set win 6-3, 6-4 — his second win over a ranked opponent this season and his fourth-straight singles win. 
 
Jared Pratt collected his first road singles win in a comeback three-set victory over Ryan Seggerman at the No. 1 singles spot. After dropping the first set 6-2, Pratt mustered up a 6-4 win in the second to force a third set, which he took 6-3 for Wisconsin's second point. 
 
Sophomore Tim Dzhurinskiy won his third-straight singles match with a gritty three-set performance over Princeton's Thomas Bosancic. Dzhurinskiy grabbed the third and final point for the Badgers with his 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 victory.

Head Coach Danny Westerman: "Very proud of the guys tonight. We fought our tails off and gave ourselves a great chance tonight versus a talented, well-coached team. If we keep putting together efforts like tonight, we will have some great moments this season."
