Markham Named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week

Senior went 3-0 in doubles, earned ranked singles win
MADISON, Wis. -- Coming off a solid weekend of competition at the 2022 ITA National Team Indoor Championships, Wisconsin's Ava Markham was recognized as Big Ten Co-Player of the Week by the conference on Tuesday.
Not only did Markham go 3-0 on the weekend in doubles play with doubles partner Ariel Johnson, but the senior also earned a singles win over No. 18 Salma Ewing of USC on Saturday night.
In doubles play, Markham and Johnson earned a 6-2 win over Sofia Johnson / Marina Alcaide of No. 17 Old Dominion, claimed a 6-3 victory over Danielle Willson / Snow Han of No. 10 USC, plus a 6-3 doubles win over Anchisa Chanta / Emma Staker of No. 8 Oklahoma.
Markham and the Badgers return to action this Friday hosting Marquette. The dual match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. CTÂ at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
