Wisconsin will take on Harvard and San Diego to close non-conference slate
MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin men's tennis team is set for a trip to San Diego, Calif., for a pair of weekday non-conference matches over spring break. Wisconsin will play Harvard on Tuesday, March 15, and the University of San Diego on Thursday, March 17.
1. All We Do is Clinch: For the third time this season, the Badgers have been on the winning end of a close match with a 4-3 win over Western Michigan on March 5. Senior Sebastian Vile grabbed that valuable fourth point, defeating the Broncos' Benjamin George 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 under pressure. Vile was also in charge of clinching the Badgers' 4-3 win over Drake in early February, while sophomore Tim Dzhurinskiy was responsible for claiming the winning point to take down DePaul, 4-3, on Jan. 22.
2. Badgers in ITA Rankings: Wisconsin has claimed consecutive top-75 rankings in the latest ITA polls. The week of March 2, the Badgers jumped into the ranks at No. 63 riding off a 5-2 win over the then-No. 42 Oregon Ducks. In the most recent update, Wisconsin has climbed up to the No. 59 spot after last weekend's win over Western Michigan.
