MADISON, Wis. – Seventy-five members of Wisconsin's winter sports teams were named to the Academic All-Big Ten team, the Conference announced.

Included on the list were two athletes with perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point averages. Men's hockey player
Tarek Baker and swimmer
Drew Nixdorf have both maintained perfect GPAs. Baker is a graduate student in educational leadership and policy analysis while Nixdorf is a junior majoring in mechanical engineering.

Notable athletes earning Academic All-Big Ten honors are:
- Brad Davison (Men's Basketball) – Second Team All-Big Ten
- Julie Pospisilova (Women's Basketball) – Honorable Mention All-Big Ten
- Jacob Newmark (Men's Swimming & Diving) – Big Ten champion in 500 freestyle
- Phoebe Bacon (Women's Swimming & Diving) – Big Ten champion in 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke
- Eric Barnett (Wrestling) – All-American
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be on a varsity team (as verified by being on the official squad list), have been enrolled full time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
