Jekel breaks school record in 200 IM

First Badger under 1:43
MADISON, Wis. - On day two of the men's NCAA Championships, junior Wes Jekel etched himself in the records books at Wisconsin. He become the first ever Badger to swim the 200 IM in under 1:43. His time of 1:42.99 broke the team record and placed him at 21st in the event.Â
Yigit Aslan competed for the Badgers in the 500 free and placed 22nd with a time of 4:15.89.
To finish out the morning, Tazman Abramowicz competed in the 1M diving competition and finished in 32nd place with 298.90 points.
The Badgers will be back at it tomorrow with competitors in the 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 3M diving and the 400 Medley Relay. Be sure to tune in to prelims at 9 a.m. CT and finals at 5 p.m. CT.
Also in the 200 IM was Caleb Aman. Aman finished in 1:44.06 taking 36th place.Making history📚
