Wisconsin earns 7-0 victory over Big Ten foe

MADISON, Wis. – The No. 45 Wisconsin women's tennis team continued conference play with a dual match against Maryland on Thursday. The Badgers (12-7, 4-2 Big Ten) swept the Terps (12-4, 1-3 Big Ten) with a 7-0 victory.

No. 52 Xinyu Cai and Alina Mukhortova got the ball rolling early for the Badgers, clinching the doubles point for Wisconsin.

Mukhortova continued the momentum in singles play, earning the first singles point for the Badgers by defeating Maryland's Mary Brumfield, 6-2, 6-0.

Reigning Big Ten Athlete of the Week, Ava Markham, earned a win over Maryland's Selma Cadar.

Charmaine Seah, Antonela Stoica, Taylor Cataldi and Cai also earned singles victories for Wisconsin.
