Badgers win two at Jim Click Shootout

Abdullahi Hassan and L.O Johnson take home wins
TUSCON, Ariz. — The Wisconsin men's track and field team completed its weekend at the Jim Click Shootout. The Badgers won two events and picked up five personal bests on Saturday.
Johnson, Hassan win events
Junior Lawrence Johnson won the 100 meters in 10.27 seconds, which ranks him fifth in the Big Ten Conference this season. Johnson also finished sixth in the 200-meter dash, running a personal best time of 21.03, ranking him seventh in the conference. Freshman Elliott Harris also ran a personal best in the 200 meters, crossing in 21.73 for 13th place.
2021 World Athletics U20 Bronze medalist Abdullahi Hassan competed in the 800 meters for the first time this outdoor season, winning the event in 1:49.22. He is now ranked fourth in the Big Ten this season.
Spencer, Stone place second
Freshman Adam Spencer finished second in the 1500 meters in 3:46.43, competing in his first collegiate 1500 meters. His time ranks 11th in the Big Ten this season. Sophomore Bob Liking placed fourth with a personal best of 3:48.72 and senior Ansel Fellman placed sixth, running a personal record of 3:50.64.
In the shot put, redshirt sophomore Andrew Stone finished second with a throw of 59 feet, 11 1/2 inches. Redshirt freshman Jason Swarens finished fifth in the shot at 56-6 and was also the highest Badger finisher in the discus, throwing a personal best of 165-10 to place sixth.
Cole Hooper led Wisconsin in the hammer throw, placing fourth at 199-0. Grad transfer Sam Coil finished fifth at 197-1, which ranks him seventh at UW. Senior Dan Ufearo improved his personal best to 193-9, ranking eighth at Wisconsin.
Other personal bests set on Saturday were Max Peckenscheidner in the 400 meters, finishing ninth in 47.70. Harris also ran a new personal record in the 400, placing 12th in 48.88.
Peckenschneider teamed with Hassan, Davis Wenthe and Colin Enz to finish sixth in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:13.5
In the triple jump, Connor Barfknecht finished third with a personal best leap of 48-5 1/4. Petyon Frankenreider was close behind at 47-6 1/4 for fourth place.
