MADISON, Wis. — Playing in the UW Field House for their first time since December, the Wisconsin volleyball team hosted their only home match of the spring season against Illinois-Chicago on Saturday. The Badgers downed the Flames 25-19, 25-8, 23-25, 25-11. 

All 11 players saw time on the court as the Badgers have used their spring to experiment with different line ups. The team was able to improve statistically in multiple categories since Tuesday's match vs. Green Bay in Beaver Dam.

As a team, the Badgers hit .315 (56 kills - 15 errors - 130 attempts) while holding UIC to .095 (36-23-137). 

Offensively, Caroline Crawford and Jade Demps led the attack with both putting away 13 kills. Crawford hit a team-best .600 (13-1-20) while Demps hit .300 (13-4-30). 

The Badgers more than doubled up the Flames behind the service line, recording nine aces compared to UIC's four. Joslyn Boyer, Anna MacDonald and Izzy Ashburn each scored on two aces in the match. 

MJ Hammill and Ashburn shared time at setter with both playing two sets. Hammill led the team with 20 assists while Ashburn put up 18 helpers. 

Defensively, the Badgers edged the Flames in blocks, 9-8. Devyn Robinson shared match-high honors with five blocks while Demps stopped three shots. 

Two Badgers recorded double-digit digs on the night with Boyer tallying a team-best 16 digs, starting at libero for the Badgers. Julia Orzoł was the other Badger in double digits, adding 10 of her own.
