MADISON, Wis. - The No. 11 Wisconsin volleyball team is back in action for another pair of Big Ten matches, this time welcoming No. 22 Minnesota and No. 18 Indiana to the UW Field House on Wednesday, Nov. 5 and Sunday, Nov. 9, respectively.
The midweek battle between the Badgers and the Golden Gophers will take place at 7:00 p.m. CT and be televised on FS1 for Yes, Sheff! Night. On Sunday, UW will take on the Hoosiers at 1:00 p.m. CT on B1G+ at the annual Stuff the Field House match.
Wisconsin Athletics is partnering with the Goodman Community Center to host "Stuff the Field House" on Sunday to provide Dane County families with a warm Thanksgiving meal. Volleyball fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items or monetary donations to the match. All donations and proceeds will go towards the Goodman Community Center Thanksgiving Basket Drive.
Wisconsin split it's pair of matches this past weekend, dropping it's contest with No. 1 Nebraska before turning in their top offensive performance of the conference slate against Ohio State on Sunday.
The Badgers finished with a hitting percentage of .458 (44 - 6 - 83) versus the Buckeyes, led by 17 kills turned in by outside hitter Mimi Colyer. Right side Grace Egan shined in her return to her former school, as the redshirt sophomore produced a .667 swinging percentage—combining for just two errors in last weekend's two matches.
On Friday, middle blocker Natalie Wardlow emerged as a standout from behind the service line—recording a career-best four service aces against the Cornhuskers. The freshman followed it up with two more aces at Ohio State, leading the Badgers to out-ace their opponents in 15 of their 20 matches.
Last year, the Badgers and Golden Gophers split their pair of meetings, as each finished in five sets. Wisconsin bested Minnesota at the UW Field House, earning their sixth-straight win versus the Golden Gophers when playing at home.
UW will look to maintain their winning streak over Indiana on Sunday, as the Badgers have secured victories in 18 consecutive matches versus the Hoosiers—sweeping them in 14 of those battles. The Hoosiers last won a match at the UW Field House in 2012.
After this weekend, Wisconsin will hit the road and battle with Michigan State in East Lansing. The match is set to start at 6:00 p.m. CT and will be streamed on B1G+.
