FORT WORTH, Texas - Taking on No. 7 TCU in the opening game of the 2022 season, the Wisconsin women's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw Thursday night at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
Contending against the Horned Frogs for the first time since 1990, Wisconsin held firm on the defensive end, as
Erin McKinney made three saves in her first career start in net, including making an impressive save in the 10th minute off a TCU corner kick. The Horned Frogs posted a 13-4 advantage in corner kicks, but the Badgers defense held stout for the shutout.
Rylee Howard paced the team with four shots in her collegiate debut, with half of those landing on frame. Fellow rookie
Maddie Poor followed with three shots, while
Aidan McConnell was the lone field player for the Badgers to play all 90 minutes.
Wisconsin will remain on the road as it visits Baylor on Sunday, Aug. 21 for a 7 p.m. start.
